Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add entries to the wheel?
Type each entry on a separate line in the 'Wheel Entries' text area on the left. The wheel automatically updates to show your entries as colored segments. You can add as many entries as you like — the wheel divides evenly among all items.
How does the spinning animation work?
When you click 'Spin the Wheel', the wheel accelerates and then gradually decelerates over a few seconds, mimicking a real spinning wheel. The final position is determined by a random number generated in your browser — no server is involved.
Can I remove an entry after adding it?
Yes. Simply edit the entries text area and delete the line containing the entry you want to remove. The wheel will instantly update to reflect the remaining entries.
Is the result truly random?
Yes. The spin distance is generated using JavaScript's Math.random(), which produces cryptographically unpredictable values for everyday use. Each spin is independent of previous spins, so every entry always has an equal chance of winning.
Can I spin the wheel again after a result?
Absolutely. Just click 'Spin the Wheel' again. You can spin as many times as you want. If you want to remove the winning entry from future spins, toggle on 'Remove winner after spin'.
What happens when 'Remove winner after spin' is enabled?
After each spin, the winning entry is automatically removed from the wheel. This is useful for raffles and giveaways where each person can only win once. When only one entry remains, that entry wins by default.
How many entries can I add to the wheel?
You can add any number of entries. For best visual results, 2–20 entries work ideally. With many entries the text on each segment becomes small, but the wheel still functions correctly and all entries remain equally likely to be selected.
Can I use this for classroom activities?
Yes! The wheel is great for randomly calling on students, assigning topics, splitting into groups, or playing vocabulary games. Just type the names or options into the entries box and spin. All processing happens in your browser — no data is sent anywhere.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes, the Wheel of Fortune Spinner is completely free. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no limitations. Open the page, enter your items, and start spinning immediately.
Does the wheel work on mobile devices?
Yes. The spinner is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. The spin button and entry editor are touch-friendly, and the canvas-based wheel scales to fit your screen size.
Can I use this for office decisions or team meetings?
Absolutely. Common use cases include picking who presents first, randomly assigning tasks, choosing lunch spots, or deciding between project names. The wheel makes group decisions quick, fun, and unbiased.
Does spinning the wheel store or transmit my entries?
No. All entries and spin results exist only in your browser's memory. Nothing is sent to any server. Your data is completely private and disappears when you close or refresh the page.
