Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AI Dialogue Writer?
The AI Dialogue Writer is an AI-powered tool that generates authentic dialogue scenes between two characters. You provide each character's name and personality, their relationship, the conversation topic, a tone, and an optional setting — and the AI writes a complete, character-driven dialogue exchange.
What relationship types are supported?
The tool supports 8 relationship types: Friends, Rivals, Romantic Partners, Strangers, Mentor & Student, Colleagues, Enemies, and Family Members. The relationship type shapes how the characters speak to each other and the power dynamic in the conversation.
What tones can I choose from?
You can choose from 8 tones: Dramatic, Comedic, Tense, Heartfelt, Mysterious, Sarcastic, Inspirational, and Casual. The tone influences the word choice, emotional register, and overall feel of the dialogue.
How long is the generated dialogue?
You can select Short (~6 lines), Medium (~12 lines), or Long (~20 lines). Each line is a single character's speech turn, so the final output is a complete back-and-forth exchange of the chosen length.
What should I write in the Personality fields?
Describe each character's key traits, speech style, motivations, or emotional state. For example: 'Pragmatic detective, dry wit, hides vulnerability behind sarcasm' or 'Idealistic journalist, passionate, prone to emotional outbursts.' The more specific you are, the more distinct each voice will be.
What is the Topic / Situation field for?
This is the subject or event that sparks the conversation — for example, 'Character A confesses they've been lying for months' or 'They argue over who is responsible for a failed mission.' The topic drives the narrative purpose of the scene.
What does the Setting field do?
The optional Setting field adds environmental context to the scene. Examples include 'A dimly lit interrogation room' or 'A crowded train station at midnight.' The AI may incorporate the setting into stage directions or the scene note at the end.
Is the generated dialogue unique every time?
Yes. The AI generates a fresh dialogue scene with each request, even when given identical inputs. You can regenerate multiple times to explore different interpretations of the same scene.
Can I copy the generated dialogue?
Yes. A 'Copy Dialogue' button appears in the output panel. It copies the complete dialogue — including the scene title, all lines with character names, and the scene note — to your clipboard in a clean, readable format.
Can I use the generated dialogue in commercial projects?
The generated dialogue is provided for your use. However, AI-generated content may have copyright implications depending on your jurisdiction and intended use. For commercial publication or production, consult a legal professional and review the output carefully.
Is my input data stored or used for training?
No. Your character descriptions, topic, and all other inputs are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently or used for AI model training. All data transmission is encrypted.
What is the scene note at the end of the dialogue?
The scene note is an optional brief director's or author's note that the AI may include to summarise the emotional arc or dramatic outcome of the scene. It is not always generated.
